GOOGLE is the world's most powerful
brand, a study revealed yesterday.
The internet search engine - founded
just 10 years ago - beat some of the biggest organisations of the past 100
years.
It was valued at £33billion, ahead of
General Electric at £31billion and Microsoft at £27.5billion.
Rankings were calculated on the strength
of a firm's name and image rather than market value.
The UK's most powerful brand is Vodafone
at £10billion, followed by HSBC (£8.7billion) and Tesco (£8.3billion).
Eileen Campbell, of survey compiler
Millward Brown, said: "These top performers demonstrate the real financial value
that successful business and brand management can deliver."
