they named it wrong....it's the most important image ever taken at the moment.
it's as far as technology can take us at this time.
the size extimate is wrong it's only based on as far as we can see.
all this was was a film of limitations. showing that even the people who think they are not narrow minded are in their own way.

The size was completely inaccurate for the galaxy. The Milky Way is on the order of 100,000 light years, NOT 78 billion! The furthest known galaxy is near 13 billion light years away, almost as old as the universe as measured by the microwave background radiation (13.7 billion years). And in response to the limitations of film: Astronomers use CCD (charge coupled devices) like your digital camera, not film.
