What a project it turned out to be. The old paint on the kitchen cupboards was a pretty ghastly and intense color, as was another set of cabinets, but my landlord who is away in Indonesia for five years teaching “green” was more than agreeable to whatever I chose to do.

First, I had some sanding to do. Then, two and sometimes three coats of primer were needed. After that, two coats of color were needed. Then, the teal color I had chosen did not dry dark enough, looked baby blue instead, and I had to have the color altered and paint again! I began to wonder if this project would ever get done. Would I ever be able to live in a beautiful and comfortable home? Would I be able to feel “right” in this new space? Would this project ever be completed so that I could finally unpack and settle in?

What energy and experiences can we expect collectively in April 2008?

Two images will help describe the energy of this month. The first is the feeling of being jolted forward in the way that occurs on a train that suddenly started moving. There is a new acceleration available that is similar to the energy of last summer. It feels like the train is speeding up. Whatever you have in your life will start moving faster in April. This will be a huge relief for some of you and may be unnerving for others. Just as if you were rushing to board the train before you feel ready, if you do not have everything gathered together yet you may feel a little flustered when things start moving. Your response to the acceleration will depend on how centered you have been able to become during the course of March. The acceleration is not in any particular direction; your experience will be wholly dependent on the intentions you have set for your individual lives. Know that whatever you have begun will streamline itself in April. A lot of the work you have all done in the last four to six months to understand yourselves better, to take accountability for yourselves, and to let go of what stands in your way is now going to really begin to pay off. If you have not done this work, you will find a sense of a last minute scramble or last minute rush.

What energy and experiences can we expect in March of 2008?

March 2008 opens new energy. It is as if the month of March 2008 is bigger than the other months; as if it takes up more time than months. The energy of March has a lot of pressure in it because change is occurring. Change is occurring like waves on the open ocean. You can see undulations that reveal a great deal of energy under the surface, but not all the waves crest and create whitecaps. From above, there may appear to be very few whitecaps, but there is far more change going on than is readily apparent. You will likely find that small things seem big, or you have strong feelings about things that you know are relatively small. This is fine – there is nothing wrong with feeling strongly. Usually your strong feelings are pointing you to where you need to change personally. If you find yourself overreacting to things, do not try to talk yourself out of your feelings. Simply redirect them into something that can help you change yourself for the better. Avoid directing your feelings and your attention onto what is occurring around you. Usually the things happening around you are not as important and they feel. It is important to honor your feelings, but it is also important to not create drama just because you are having strong feelings. In March, watch your feelings, but wait to act until you have established a sense of calm.
